FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 16, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- UMED Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB:UMED), through its wholly-owned subsidiary Greenway Innovative Energy, Inc. (GIE) announced today the issuance by the US Patent Office of an additional patent that covers its mobile Gas-to-Liquids ("GTL") conversion unit for the purpose of converting natural gas to clean synthetic fuels.
US patent number 8,795,597 covers claims associated with the process of transforming natural gas into hydrocarbon in a portable and mobile conversion unit. The process involves removing sulfur from the natural gas and converting it into synthetic gas. The synthetic gas will polymerize in a Fischer-Tropsch reactor, which includes catalyst filled pipes, creating a clean synthetic liquid fuel, which will be passed through a fractionation tower. The process is intended to produce high quality synthetic fuels focusing primarily on diesel and jet fuel.
The Greenway mobile Conversion Units will encompass several proprietary technological advancements, be relatively inexpensive to operate, dependable, long lived, and highly autonomous, requiring minimal oversight.
Ray Wright, President of Greenway said, "We continue to work diligently at building our patent estate and intellectual property portfolio to protect our GTL technology. This patent is another very important component in this increasingly competitive environment of finding alternatives to traditional energy sources."
