TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 4, 2014) - Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) will celebrate its 92nd anniversary and recognize the contributions to the profession of three MPPs at a reception at Queen's Park on Wednesday, November 5. This will be the association's eighth reception at Queen's Park. The first was held in 2005 and coincided with the establishment of PEO's Government Liaison Program, which fosters dialogue between professional engineers and elected officials on the importance and direction of the self-regulated profession.
In addition to the MPPs receiving awards from PEO, speakers at the 2014 event will include the Hon. Madeleine Meilleur, Attorney General, MPP Ottawa-Vanier; Sylvia Jones, Progressive Conservative Critic for the Attorney General and MPP Dufferin-Caledon; Jagmeet Singh, New Democratic Party Critic for the Attorney General and MPP Bramalea-Gore-Malton; Danny Young, P.Eng., president and chair, Ontario Society of Professional Engineers; and PEO President J. David Adams, P.Eng., MBA, FEC. In addition to the speakers, nearly 50 MPPs are confirmed to attend.
