Globally, PAS operates six facilities; five PAS locations already maintain AS9100 certification. Acquiring AS9100 certification involves a rigorous audit process that evaluates organizational processes and regulatory requirements. The accreditation is based on a number of key elements in place at a facility's operation which include product safety, airworthiness, conformity and reliability in the aerospace industry. These quality requirements, in turn, are crucial to aerospace OEMs, which maintain high levels of liability for their product.
"One of the key components to achieving AS9100 is having a sound quality management system in place to drive operations and processes," said Dragos Grigorescu, General Manager of the PAS Ploiesti facility. "The aerospace industry is a high risk sector, and our primary focus at PAS is ensuring that the integrity and quality of services we offer to businesses operating in this space are world-class. Receiving this accreditation aligns with our mission to provide the best delivery times, quality, and customer satisfaction."
In addition to securing the AS9100 certification, the PAS Ploiesti facility has expanded its operational footprint and has One-Stop Shop® capabilities to serve customers in both the O&G and commercial and military aerospace industries. PAS One-Stop Shop® facilities manufacture, turn, machine, weld, braze, coat, plate, and heat treat a full spectrum of components – creating the ultimate value for a broader range of customers. Of important note, High-Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF) coating, machining, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) are part of the service offerings at the PAS Ploiesti location.
"Attaining AS9100 certification and expanding our operation in Romania are significant milestones that further illustrate our commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Our customers can be confident that PAS products meet the highest level of quality and safety standards in the industry," said Thomas C. Hutton, Chief Executive Officer of PAS Technologies. "With increased capabilities, along with measurable improvements and efficiencies achieved across global facilities, operational excellence at our company is more than just a focus or a guiding principle – it's a reality."
