HOUSTON, Dec. 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- VendorSafe Technologies, a leading provider of cloud-managed IT security services, today announced the appointment of Jay Conn as chief operating officer. Previously, Conn served as executive vice president and COO of Alteva, Inc., a publicly traded, leading provider of cloud-based unified communications solutions.
The addition of Conn to the VendorSafe team further accelerates the company's growth initiative to address the rapidly expanding market opportunity driven by growing breach awareness in the small business community. The appointment comes on the heels of the announcement in November that Providence Equity Partners became the company's majority shareholder and the VendorSafe board of directors named Kevin Watson as CEO. With $40 billion in managed fund commitments, Providence is the leading global private equity firm focused on media, communications, education and information investments.
Conn brings more than 25 years of operations management and leadership skills in cloud, SaaS and ASP-based technology companies. In addition to Alteva, Conn has held executive positions with Verid, a SaaS provider of identity verification services, and Equitrac Corporation, a market leader in intelligent print and cost management solutions.
"Jay brings tremendous passion, strategic perspective and depth of experience leading high-growth security technology companies to our executive team," said Watson. "He will be extremely effective at helping pilot VendorSafe's operations through the coming phase of rapid expansion."
"What is exciting and compelling about VendorSafe is that it helps to protect businesses against the very real dangers of cyberattacks and data breaches," said Conn. "At a time when small businesses are the targets of 80 percent of breach attacks, I am very excited to become part of the VendorSafe team, working to deliver peace of mind and security to business owners."
