GARDNER, MA--(Marketwired - December 10, 2014) - TerraTherm, Inc., a leading provider of environmental thermal remediation services and technologies, announces that highly respected health and safety expert Brian Duffy, CIH, CSP has joined the company as Corporate Safety & Compliance Manager. "TerraTherm is fortunate to have someone in this position with his experience, credentials and practical approach. With the number of projects in the operation and construction phase, timing couldn't be better for us to 'up our game' with a focus on safe practices," says TerraTherm CEO and President, John Bierschenk.
Duffy brings to TerraTherm more than 13 years of experience in identifying, evaluating and controlling workplace exposures to hazardous chemicals and other safety and health hazards at leading companies in the industry, such as Raytheon, Tighe & Bond, Inc., and URS Corporation. He is certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a Certified Industrial Hygienist and by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals as a Certified Safety Professional.
Duffy holds a Master of Science degree in Safety Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety Studies from Keene State College. He has also served as the President of the Worcester County Chapter and Vermont Section of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
He is currently working with management and field staff at all project locations to provide cost effective strategies to minimize site hazards. Additionally, Duffy is establishing a new Safety Committee, updating written compliance programs, and developing a new safety and health training program.
TerraTherm has an excellent Health and Safety performance record, routinely maintaining its Experience Modification Rating (EMR) and OSHA recordable incident rates well below industry averages. Nonetheless, it is anticipated that under Duffy's leadership, TerraTherm will continue to enhance its strong safety culture.
