LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 5, 2015) -
NEWS HIGHLIGHTS
- Launches pre-orders for Tablo METRO, the first DVR with integrated DTV antennas
- Announces availability of indoor DTV antennas featuring fractal technology
- Announces custom-designed enhanced Roku channel app, as well as apps for Amazon Fire TV and Android TV
Building on the success of the Tablo OTA DVR, Nuvyyo today announced the introduction of Tablo METRO, the only OTA DVR with integrated digital TV antennas. Designed for use within 25 miles of TV broadcast towers, Tablo METRO gives urban consumers a compact, out-of-the box solution for capturing and recording free Over-the-Air television signals in full HD.
Tablo METRO combines dual fractal DTV antennas and switching technology with Nuvyyo's user-friendly Tablo 2-Tuner DVR hardware and apps. Two very small but incredibly powerful fractal antennas inside Tablo METRO capture OTA TV while intelligent switching technology enables the antennas to operate independently to capture signals originating from broadcast tower locations, even if they are located in opposing directions.
"In North America, most city dwellers have access to an incredible range of free Over-the-Air television programming but may be hesitant to cut the cord because of the mistaken belief that OTA antennas have to be roof mounted," said Grant Hall, CEO at Nuvyyo. "Tablo METRO was designed with this market in mind, combining our Whole-Home DVR technology with high quality indoor antennas for a plug-and-play experience in a small form factor."
Tablo METRO is now available for pre-order on Tablo's online store for $249.99 US/$279.99 CAN with an anticipated ship date of March, 2015. Additionally, omni-directional indoor antennas using this fractal technology are also available from Tablo, in both amplified and non-amplified models, starting at $39.99 US/$44.99 CAN.
New & Improved Apps Support Big Screen TV Viewing Experience
In addition to Tablo METRO, Nuvyyo continues to innovate its software app lineup serving all Tablo DVRs including a redesigned Roku channel and the addition of new apps for Amazon Fire TV and Android TV. These additions and improvements support Tablo's mission to provide the best live and recorded HDTV experience on every screen in the home.
Firstly, an enhanced Tablo interface will be coming to Roku's public channel lineup. Tablo's new Roku channel interface is custom-designed to have the same beautiful Netflix-style look and feel as its mobile and web apps, including an all-new live TV grid guide. As always, Tablo customers will be able to discover, record and stream content from their Tablo OTA DVR via Roku, however users will now also enjoy streamlined menu options, and overall speed improvements.
Secondly, Tablo will be bringing Android-based apps to both the Amazon Fire TV and Android TV streaming set-top-boxes. This will provide two additional streaming media player options for Tablo customers who wish to enjoy live and recorded Over-the-Air content on their big screen TVs.
All of these new Tablo apps will be available in early 2015. When available, links will be posted at www.TabloTV.com/apps.
All Tablo products and software innovations will be demonstrated in Las Vegas this evening at the Pepcom Digital Experience media event at the Mirage Events Center and for the rest of the week at CES: Sands Expo - Level 2 Halls A-C, Booth #75568.
