The Big Data Everywhere conferences will focus on providing attendees with valuable insights from some of today's most successful Hadoop deployments. MapR will also present at various big data meetups located in U.S. cities throughout January.
The Big Data Everywhere series of one-day conferences in 2015 kick off in Atlanta on Tuesday, January 27 at the GTRI Convention Center, where it will be co-presented by MapR and Cisco and hosted by the Atlanta Hadoop User Group. The conference moves to Washington on Thursday, January 29, where it will be again co-presented by MapR and Cisco and hosted by the Seattle Marketing Analytics Meetup group and held at the Westin Bellevue in Bellevue, WA.
MapR executives will present at both Big Data Everywhere events in January on the following topics:
Chief Application Architect Ted Dunning will present "Practical and High-Performance Time Series Databases," where he will describe in detail how NoSQL methods can be used to achieve extreme levels of performance for standard time series databases as well as for geo-temporal databases.
Ted will also present a session titled "Real Time Recommendations: Puppies and Ponies in Motion." This presentation will highlight how a large-scale multi-modal co-occurrence recommender can be extended to include near real-time updates. The session will also cover how these real-time updates are compatible with delivery of recommendations via search engines.
Director of Enterprise Strategy and Architecture Jim Scott will present a knowledge-sharing keynote titled "Get Real with Hadoop," where he will speak about ways to leverage the Hadoop platform for real-time data processing.
