Energistics Awards WITSML V1.4.1.1 Certification to Petrolink

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Feb 4, 2015) - Petrolink, the independent real-time and report data solutions company, announced today that they have been awarded certification for WITSML V1.4.1.1 by Energistics, the upstream oil and gas open standards consortium. WITSML V1.4.1.1 is the most recent release of the drilling data exchange standard; Petrolink is one of four organizations who are certified worldwide.

Wellsite information transfer standard markup language (WITSML) is an open standard for transmitting technical drilling data between disparate systems and companies in the upstream petroleum industry. WITSML strengthens companies' drilling data management by allowing freedom of choice in the tools, technologies and software for use during the drilling process. By collecting and storing drilling data in WITSML, operators avoid being 'locked in' to one vendor's real-time system, process or analysis tools.

With WITSML V1.4.1.1, Energistics has a new behavior-based, automated software Testing Tool and Certification program that replaces all previous certification programs and eliminates the variable nature of former programs by bringing consistency and objectivity to the testing process.
