Comcast to Muster an Army of Volunteers During National Volunteer Month

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - Apr 22, 2015) - On Saturday, April 25, more than 2,000 local Comcast NBCUniversal employees and their families, friends and community partners across Oregon and SW Washington will "make change happen" as they volunteer to improve local schools, parks and community centers as part of the 14^th annual Comcast Cares Day.

Comcast Cares Day, which takes place each April during National Volunteer Month, is Comcast NBCUniversal's companywide celebration of their year-round commitment to service and the nation's largest single-day corporate volunteer effort in the country. In conjunction with 20 volunteer locations across the Northwest, more than 2,000 Comcast volunteers will serve the community with outdoor gardening and landscaping, indoor and outdoor painting, washing windows, sewing, veterans outreach and deep cleaning and organizing.

One Comcast Cares Day event will focus the efforts of 350 volunteers at Portland's Glenfair Elementary School in the Reynolds School District. Volunteers will build a walking path, paint some portable classrooms, build raised flower beds, and more.
