COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwired - May 1, 2015) - The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has opened its annual survey of companies to compete for its 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace list. This year, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, America's only nonprofit public charity, dedicated to finding homes for children in foster care, will also feature emerging leaders who are making significant gains toward the top 100 list.
"Every year, we are excited and inspired by companies who offer adoption-friendly benefits, not because they have to, but because it is the right thing to do for their employees," said Rita Soronen, President and CEO of the Foundation. "Adoption-friendly policies are easy to implement, cost-effective and are a simple way to make a huge impact on the lives of children and families."
The Foundation's list is determined by an analysis of a company's adoption benefits, based on surveys completed by employers, including the maximum amount of financial reimbursement and paid leave for families who adopt.
The 2015 application deadline is Monday, June 1. Companies with adoption benefits are encouraged to apply for consideration by completing the Foundation's 10-minute survey at adoptionfriendlyworkplace.org.
The Foundation's list of 2015's 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces will be released in October. In addition to the top 100 and emerging leaders lists, companies will also be organized by industry and the top 10 by size.
"Companies often tell us that offering adoption benefits has helped them create a family-friendly workplace and recruit and retain top talent," said Soronen. "It also ensures companies celebrate all families equally in their organizations."
