MORGAN HILL, Calif., May 11, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The OpenADR Alliance, a nonprofit corporation created to foster the development, adoption, and compliance of the Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR) smart grid standard,today announced it is hosting a Member Meeting and Open House May 13-14th at the Southern California Edison Energy Education Center in Irwindale, California. The event will include sessions on OpenADR targeted to utilities, independent system operators (ISO), regulators and control suppliers.
"This will provide a rare opportunity to meet with Demand Response experts who share a common interest in this rapidly growing marketplace," said Barry Haaser, managing director, OpenADR Alliance. "Attendees will gain valuable insight into how the OpenADR standard is strengthening the electrical grid through improved energy efficiency and reliability."
There will be a half-day workshop from 8am to noon PT on May 13th, which is designed to bring OpenADR implementers and Utility DR program managers up to speed with OpenADR. The workshop by QualityLogic, will be broken down into three parts including an overview of OpenADR's major features and functions, best practices for using OpenADR with a variety of DR Program types, and guidance for OpenADR developer resources and tools. The Member Meeting and Open House starts at 1:00 PM PT for members and non-members for a nominal fee. The meeting will be kicked off with a keynote address from Mauro Dresti, Senior Manager, Mass Market Solutions, Southern California Edison. Attendees will be informed on the latest developments involving the OpenADR Alliance as well as hear from industry experts on the latest utility projects and product implementations.
