SANTA MONICA, CA--(Marketwired - May 14, 2015) - GumGum (www.gumgum.com), the largest in-image advertising provider for publishers and brands, today announced the appointment of Ben Plomion to the role of senior vice president of marketing. Plomion will lead the company's marketing and communications initiatives, industry relations and thought leadership programs to expand awareness of its digital advertising solutions. He will report directly to Ophir Tanz, CEO and founder of GumGum.
"Ben's deep knowledge and strong leadership in marketing and ad tech will support our rapid growth trajectory and strongly complement the depth and quality of our management team," said Tanz. "Additionally, his connectivity to an expansive network of marketers and influencers will be instrumental in increasing GumGum's penetration into AdAge's 100 largest advertising spenders."
Plomion brings more than 15 years of digital media and marketing experience to GumGum's leadership team. Most recently, he was VP of marketing at Chango, a leading programmatic advertising platform specializing in retargeting that was recently acquired by the Rubicon Project. There, he created and headed up the company's marketing programs, and led a team that was responsible for some of the most innovative thought leadership programs in the industry, including the award winning 'The Programmatic Mind' magazine and 'Cards Against Marketing.'
"GumGum provides something of unique value to advertisers -- the ability to connect with consumers in an underutilized, overlooked and highly-valuable area... editorial images," said Plomion. "Native premium content is experiencing widespread adoption by publishers and advertisers alike making it an exciting time for the industry and GumGum. I am eager to jump right in and accelerate the company's marketing efforts."
Prior to GumGum and Chango, Plomion served as manager of digital initiative at GE Capital, where he established GE Capital's digital value proposition and managed its execution worldwide.
