SYLVANIA, OH--(Marketwired - May 19, 2015) - Root Inc., the strategy execution consulting company, today announced Root employees were awarded the First Place prize and the Audience Choice Film award at this year's Tree City Film Festival's 50-Hour Challenge.
The grand prize went to the film "Finding Floyd" created by three members of Root's film department -- Chad Dankert, Joshua Lightle and Dave Ayling. Root's esteemed creative department has won several awards in the past, including multiple Telly Awards, for its client film deliverables.
"Businesses succeed when their employees are happy -- when they are tapping into their passions," said Jim Haudan, CEO of Root. "We love to see our employees doing what they love at work and in their everyday lives. We could not be more proud of the Root film team and its award-winning accomplishments."
This year's 50-Hour Challenge tasked 19 teams with making a film less than eight minutes long in a 50-hour period. The first-place winners -- the team called D20 -- had to deliver a film in the "slapstick" genre, a challenge at first, but one the team quickly overcame to take home the big prize.
Hosted by the Sylvania Community Arts Commission, the Tree City Film Festival supports local, regional and national filmmakers in the pursuit of their art, and seeks to develop a committed, cultivated film audience in our community through education, entertainment and participation.
