CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - June 08, 2015) - In 2006, Near West Theatre embarked upon a collaborative capital campaign through the Gordon Square Arts District to create a permanent home and be a part of the revitalization of the Detroit-Shoreway Neighborhood. Near West Theatre’s new building is the culmination of dreams, hard work, investment, and belief in a vision that began nine years ago. They’ve transformed lives and strengthened community through their extraordinary theater experiences for 35+ years. This new performance venue, now donned with a new full color LED message sign from Akers Signs will forever impact this flourishing art district.
The front entryway features an architectural marvel. Against the vibrant blue backdrop of the building are two towers topped with bright yellow gears with a new high resolution full color LED display manufactured by Vantage LED spanning between them. Behind the towers on the building is a heart-shaped dimensional sign that proudly states NEARWEST THEATRE in the classy broadway fashion. The bold colors welcomes the art community along with bright dynamic messages made by the team at SM Infinity who provided the cloud-based software to operate the LED sign.

Started in 1972 by his parents, Rick Akers spent his childhood in the sign shop watching his dad paint signs. Today, they concentrate on fabricated aluminum and architectural signage with a focus on LED electronic message centers and lighting. They recently completed the Cleveland Clinic Akron General affiliate signage program and the Children's Hospital of Akron expansion.
