Lubrizol Expands European Formulations & Applications Center of Excellence


CLEVELAND, June 16, 2015 - The Lubrizol Corporation's Performance Coatings business announces an expansion at one of its European Formulations & Applications Centers of Excellence in Blackley, UK. In addition to a formulations and applications technical team, the Blackley facility also comprises research and development of hyperdispersants and is a central location for all European and emerging markets commercial activities. The facility is dedicated to synthesizing, formulating and testing dispersant technologies for diverse coatings and explores unique solutions for resins, binders and surface modification.

"Essentially, we have increased our lab footprint by 50% for our formulations and applications," comments Lee Young, Lubrizol global formulations and applications manager. "This allows us to continue building on the technical capabilities that our customers count on from us - which includes the development and formulation of coatings solutions that bring differentiated performance to meet our customers' wide-ranging requirements."

Continued Lubrizol investments in global Centers of Excellence ensure the ability for highly skilled technical experts to collaborate in labs with modern equipment to efficiently deliver advanced coating technologies to customers. "Reducing our response time to customers is also a key business goal," continues Young.
