CHICAGO, July 27, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- UCX, The Universal Compute Xchange, ‘Where the Universe Trades The Cloud,’ today announced that it has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within Cloud Computing, and to provide education on the uses of Cloud Computing to help secure all other forms of computing. CSA has been the industry leading force in cloud security, education and standardization. The CSA membership boasts many of the biggest names in technology including Amazon, Microsoft, HP and SAP.
UCX also announced that it has implemented the CSA’s Security, Trust and Assurance Registry (STAR) and is ensuring that participating cloud service providers (CSPs) on its exchange are complying with the standards set forth by the leaders of the cloud industry. “The CSA STAR establishes the fact that our providers are being held to the highest security standards, and demonstrates to enterprises our commitment to provide a viable, safe, and secure platform to buy and sell compute resources,” says Tim Martin, Operations Director for UCX. “Security is our number one priority. In other company news, UCX has implemented Dun & Bradstreet to assist with its membership vetting procedures, mainly risk assessment of its membership. It has also retained Andrew Anderson, a cloud security solutions specialist with nearly 20 years' experience with CA Technologies. Andrew holds numerous patents and is recognized as one of the leading ‘solutions architect’ in the industry.
