Three-day Summit on Public Health Crisis of Porn to be held in September

WASHINGTON, DC,, July 28, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The movement to end sexual exploitation has become an international, multi-faceted, force. And it's just getting started. Hundreds of organizations and advocates will gather in Orlando, Florida this September 10^th-12^th, when the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCSE) will host the 2^nd annual Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation (CESE) Summit.

The CESE 2015 Summit will provide up-to-date social and medical research on the harms of pornography and how it is linked to sexual violence, child exploitation, sex trafficking, racism, increased sexual dysfunction, broken families and more. This Summit will build on the successful Symposium at the U.S. Capitol held this July, which explored the same issues and the role our lawmakers have in curbing exploitation. There will also be valuable training for leaders in areas such as media and fundraising, and plenty of networking and strategy time in order to grow a more effective movement.

"This Summit is the only one of its kind in the world," says Dawn Hawkins, Executive Director of NCSE. "It will essentially be an international board meeting between leaders in the movement to end sexual exploitation with an emphasis on the public health crisis of pornography. It will bring together everyone working on these issues including radical feminists and religious conservatives, scholars and activists, business leaders and advocates for women and children. We invite all who are working in the movement already and those who want to get more involved to attend this critical training and strategy meeting."

Prominent speakers will include, but aren't limited to, Ernie Allen (Founder, Former, President & CEO National Center for Missing & Exploited Children & International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children), Mary Anne Layden, Ph.D (Director, Sexual Trauma and Psychopathology Program Center for Cognitive Therapy, Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania), Ed Smart (father of kidnap Victim Elizabeth Smart) and Clay Olsen (CEO & Founder, Fight The New Drug.)

The Early Bird entrance fee is $250 before July 31^st, and after that it will cost $300. Students are invited for $125. Group rates and scholarships are also available.
