BOSTON, July 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Road Scholar, the not-for-profit world leader in educational learning adventures, has introduced a new, five-day educational adventure in Detroit, Michigan, the iconic American city with a long, rich history and home to Motown, the Ford Motor Company and world-class art museums and architecture.

In the 20th century, Detroit was a thriving American city, leading the country in innovations in music, architecture and manufacturing. However, the city suffered a population and economic decline in the early 2000s. Over the past few years, the city has undergone an incredible transformation and Road Scholar is one of the only organizations that offer a comprehensive exploration of the city's comeback.
 
Michael King, 77, is a recent transplant to the Great Lakes region. He and his wife, Jean, wanted to learn more about the state they now call home.
