Unigen Announces Unique M.2 PCIe AHCI SSD Solution

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwired - August 03, 2015) - Unigen Corporation has announced a unique M.2 PCIe SSD Gen2 x4 solution for embedded and networking applications with high performance requirements. The solution is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities.

The product is designed around a Multi-Format Flash Media controller, which allows read/write capability to MLC NAND Flash, providing performance and high reliability density media to store code and data.

This solution is based on the M.2 2280 B-M form factor, which operates on a 3.3V power supply. This small form factor flash module can be used for high reliability storage of critical code and data, in space-constrained embedded, industrial, gaming and networking applications.

The product is fully compliant with PCIe Gen2 and can operate in 2 lane or 4 lane mode. It supports AHCI drivers. The solution features high performance throughput of up to 1400MB/s Read, and 1000MB/s write, typical latency lower than 100uS read and 70uS write, and low power consumption of less than 1.5W idle and 6W active. It has wide operating system (OS) support, which includes Windows and Linux.
