Research has shown that 32% of consumers expect a company to respond to an online request for information within 30 minutes. Another 42% expect contact within one hour. To see how companies are performing, for the second consecutive year, InSellerate conducted a research study to identify the speed to contact of LeadsCon NY attending companies. From June to July, 2015, the team at InSellerate sent digital inquiries, either through an online inquiry form or by email, to 778 companies.
Key Findings
- As a whole, the companies in the study did not meet consumers' expectations when it comes to inquiry response time.
- More than half (56.34%) did not respond to the online or email inquiry at all.
- Of those companies that did respond, the average response time exceeded
24 hours. - The primary response vehicle was email, which is a passive, non-engaging,
relatively non-effective method of contact.
