SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 25, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Good Samaritan Hospital is celebrating 50 years of providing the community with award-winning compassionate care. In recognition of this milestone and to help kick off the next 50 years, Good Samaritan Hospital is inviting its patients, friends and neighbors to a full day Birthday Bash September 19 at Santana Row. The free event welcomes people of all ages and takes place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Over the past 50 years more than 100,000 babies have taken their first breath at Good Samaritan Hospital. In 2014, 3,593 babies were welcomed into the Good Samaritan Hospital family. The hospital is also proud of its comprehensive stroke center, accredited cancer center, emergency care and other specialty services.

The 50th Birthday Bash includes activities for the whole family on two stages. The main stage will feature musical entertainment spanning the decades from Motown and classic rock to modern hits. Between sets, Bollywood dancers will take the stage and put on a live show and offer dance lessons to attendees. The Children's Pavilion will have kid-friendly live entertainment, safety checks such as fingerprinting and car seat inspections, and other special kids' activities including face painting, interactive contests, a chance to meet first responders and photo opportunities.
Attendees can also visit the Learning Lounge to enjoy cooking demos from Santana Row's top chefs, Qigong focused breathing and posture techniques led by instructors, CPR classes and Health Chats with Good Samaritan physicians and staff. A shopping passport with discounts to Santana Row shops and restaurants will also be handed out at the event with exclusive Birthday Bash-only offers.
