OSHA aligned its Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom) with GHS, a model system developed by the United Nations, to improve hazardous chemical communication with more consistent classification of associated dangers. A transition period was set in place with a series of phased compliance deadlines to be followed by the millions of hazardous chemical manufacturers, distributors and end-users (or employers) covered by the standard. The presentation will be held Monday, August 31 from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. MT in the Falcon meeting room at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.

While the recent HazCom Standard enforcement directive provided some clarity on OSHA's interpretation of its revised HazCom Standard, industry professionals still have questions about many of the changes associated with the GHS alignment.
