ATLANTA, Sept. 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Racemi, a provider of automated server migration software, announces availability of updated DynaCenter software that offers Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Formation templates to simplify installation and configuration, plus support for eight additional IBM SoftLayer data centers giving customers a choice of deploying to 20 SoftLayer data centers around the globe.
In addition, it's now possible to "quiesce" services on source and target servers before synchronization in order to ensure file and application consistency. This new feature is especially useful for database servers and other applications that cache changes in memory for high performance.
Another usability improvement is automatic server size selection when deploying and migrating servers to AWS or SoftLayer cloud platforms. DynaCenter can automatically select the appropriate server size on the cloud based on the processor and memory information in the image captured from the source server.
The eight additional SoftLayer data centers supported are located in Amsterdam, Dallas, Frankfurt, Milan, Montreal, Queretaro (Mexico), Sydney and Tokyo.
Already, customers have a choice of deploying to 10 Amazon data centers worldwide.
"We've taken automation for moving workloads to AWS and SoftLayer clouds to an even higher level simplifying the migration process and making it faster than ever before," said James Strayer, vice president of product management, Racemi. "Racemi delivers customers the broadest coverage and deepest integration with AWS and SoftLayer clouds."
Licensing of DynaCenter starts at $299 per successful workload migration, with volume discounts available. Racemi also offers no cost migration options to qualified AWS and SoftLayer customers.
Racemi is an AWS Technology Partner and was awarded a Partner Network Leadership Award at the most recent AWS re:Invent show.
Racemi's DynaCenter migration software captures the entire server stack--including operating system, applications, and configuration--and automatically converts it to run on the selected cloud platform by applying the necessary tools and drivers during the migration process. This ensures existing workloads are migrated in their time-tested configuration, resulting in improved reliability and reduced support requirements. There is no infrastructure to deploy or maintain on the customer's site and key features such as Live Capture ensure there is no server downtime. All customer data is secured and compressed using AES/RSA SSL encryption over firewall- friendly, fault tolerant outbound HTTPS connections to provide maximum protection and reliability.
