RAUFOSS, Norway, Sept. 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Nammo Talley, Inc. was awarded an important contract for production and delivery of ammunition for the Shoulder-Launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon system.
On September 10, Nammo was awarded an indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract to produce ammunition for the Shoulder-launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon (SMAW) system. Maximum value of the five-year contract is $97,2 million USD. Funding and work location will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 10, 2020.
SMAW is a direct fire, man-portable infantry assault system comprised of a crew served Mk 153 reusable launcher and a family of 83mm rounds. This award specifies production of the high-explosive dual-purpose round, the novel explosive round, and the common practice round.
