ANN ARBOR, MI--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2015) - Kirk Cassidy, president of Senior Planning Advisors and Strategic Investment Advisors (www.seniorplanningadvisors.com), and associates will be holding two "Retirement Elevated" courses on Sept. 17 and 24 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sept. 22 and 29 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the University of Michigan's Rackham Graduate School.
"As many individuals and couples aged 50 to 75 are learning, optimal retirement planning and updating can go far beyond previous expectations," says Cassidy, a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).
"One of the things I emphasize is a 'holistic' approach to financial wellness in retirement. Your blueprint should cover all aspects of funding retirement. I believe 'holistic' is a good term for retirement because there are many aspects to get right for a robust retirement plan, and financial wellness is important for overall wellness."
In both two-day courses, attendees are walked step-by-step through the basics of retirement planning and receive answers to many of the questions retirees and working adults struggle with. The class addresses how to define an ideal retirement, determine how much income is needed and what strategies can provide guaranteed income that one can never outlive, invest for future security, minimize taxes on retirement income, insulate wealth from unexpected health care costs, protect one's estate and provide for one's heirs. Attendees will leave with a clearer idea as to what is needed to create a personalized plan and how to find an advisor who can provide this type of plan.
"We want to empower retirees with knowledge," Cassidy says. "As independent and comprehensive advisors, we appreciate the value of educated decisions."
