Unitek College Sacramento Campus Awarded School of Excellence

Prestigious Award Honors College for Maintaining High Levels of Achievement Among Their Students

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Unitek College announced that its Sacramento Branch Campus has been awarded the 2015 School of Excellence Award by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. The School of Excellence Award recognizes ACCSC-accredited institutions for their commitment to the rigors of ACCSC accreditation as well as the efforts made by the institution to maintain high levels of achievement among their students.

"The ACCSC School of Excellence Award is an incredible testament to the fact that we at Unitek College are rigorously working to empower our student community with skills and knowledge to further their professional goals. We are thrilled our Sacramento branch campus has been recognized with this prestigious award. The campus leadership and faculty teams have one unified agenda to ensure student success," says Janis Paulson, CEO, Unitek College.

The annual ACCSC School of Excellence Award involves a stringent evaluation process. The institution must be in good standing and average rates of graduation and graduate employment must meet or exceed those across all ACCSC-accredited institutions. Unitek College's Fremont Main Campus was the recipient of the ACCSC School of Excellence Award in 2013.

Unitek College Sacramento has been providing educational opportunities in vocational nursing, medical assisting and information technology for the Sacramento community since 2006. The training college has doubled total laboratory space in the past year and now offers over 10,000 square feet of real-world workplace learning space.

Just last month, the Sacramento campus launched a dental assisting program and debuted a community health fair that was attended by hundreds of Sacramento local residents. In partnership with the Sacramento Metro Chamber, Unitek College offered community members complimentary health screenings, fitness demonstrations, and local government resources.

"Receiving this recognition affirms the commitment Unitek College has to providing our students with the instruction, tools and technology needed to create a better life," says Scott King, Campus Director, Sacramento campus. "Our modern simulation laboratories and rigorous curriculum challenge students to meet the highest standards to ensure they are successful in the real world."
