PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwired - Sep 18, 2015) - The power of prayer through unified participation will receive an added boost in late September when Philadelphia hosts the World Meeting of Families, September 22-25, culminating with the arrival of Pope Francis, September 26-27. A local non-denominational Christian prayer network known as The Holy Spirit And The City will be using this once-in-a-lifetime event to bring together its regular participants, along with many of the pilgrims coming to the city to dramatically increase its collective efforts to invoke God's grace and inspire good works through unified social ministries and outreach.
The Holy Spirit And The City holds regular prayer-based events in Philadelphia and ministers the City Wide Prayer Network, a conference call style service that offers the public a chance to pray together weekly (every Wednesday at 6 am, 12 noon, 6 pm, and 10 pm, Eastern Standard Time), all year round, to keep the City and surrounding areas unified. Participants are invited to call 605-562-0020, and provide PIN 664 110# when prompted. Those interested in taking part in this spiritual experience during the World Meeting of Families should call at any of the listed times on Wednesday, September 23. They will share in collective prayers for the Pope, Christian missions, the City, surrounding areas, and each other. All calls start on time and last about 15 minutes.
Pope Francis's visit is in support of the World Meeting of Families, the world's largest gathering of Catholic families, whose conference will host 100 speakers, panel discussions, workshops, and more at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, September 22-25, which will be followed by two days of events when Pope Francis arrives on September 26.
The Holy Spirit And The City, and its City Wide Prayer Network, are intended to unify Christian Prayer Leaders and Warriors throughout the Philadelphia region, so they can be mobilized to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ. The group hopes to bring together all Christian denominations and to encourage praying together as a way to unite all races, colors, and creeds.
