Lynch Chiropractic Center Celebrates Chiropractic Health Month

LEXINGTON, Ky., Sept. 27, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lynch Chiropractic Center announced that the wellness center will be celebrating "Chiropractic Health Month" this October. National Chiropractic Health Month is a nationwide campaign organized by the American Chiropractic Association to raise awareness about the benefits of chiropractic care. This year's theme, "Discover Chiropractic: Find Your Game", focuses on how everyone can take steps toward optimal health through regular chiropractic exams and adjustments. Lynch Chiropractic Center is using the month of October to educate patients and the public about the many benefits of chiropractic care beyond pain management and injury rehabilitation.

"National Chiropractic Month is an important opportunity to educate patients about the benefits of chiropractic care for every day health," said Lexington chiropractor Dr. Kevin Lynch. "While some individuals may already know about chiropractic's pain relief benefits, we want to get the word out about chiropractic's ability to enhance all aspects of a patient's wellbeing, including natural stress relief."

Lynch Chiropractic Center says the practice will focus on how patients can benefit from chiropractic care every day of their lives to feel better, regardless of age, previous injuries, or fitness level.

"Chiropractic care is a gentle and safe treatment for individuals of all ages, including children and seniors," said Dr. Lynch. "It is truly life changing."

And while Dr. Lynch and his team will be stressing the benefits of chiropractic care for whole body wellness, the chiropractor says they won't be shying away from talking about the importance of chiropractic treatments as a drug-free alternative for pain management.

"Numerous studies document Americans' over-reliance on pain medication, including right here in Lexington," said Dr. Lynch. "Unfortunately, since drugs only cover up pain symptoms, they don't actually solve any problems and, since they can be highly addictive, they often create additional health issues."

In 2012, for example, more than 259 million prescriptions were written for Vicodin, OxyContin and other opioid painkillers, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That's enough for every American adult to have a bottle of pills, says Dr. Lynch, who is cautioning patients to think twice before using prescription painkillers and to seek other alternatives.

"Many of our patients find that conservative treatments, including chiropractic adjustments, are an effective pain relief option," said Dr. Lynch. "Most importantly, chiropractic adjustments target the root cause for a patient's pain, bringing correct alignment back to the spine and alleviating nerve compression and interference. Medication can only 'cover up' symptoms; it does not treat these root mechanical dysfunctions. That's what chiropractic care does."

Lynch Chiropractic provides comprehensive, drug-free pain management care, including back pain and neck pain treatment, auto accident injury and whiplash treatment, sports injury rehabilitation, and exercise rehabilitation.
