LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 27, 2015) - A new movie, THE GAME OF ONE, entered pre-production today and started its quest to crowdcast hundreds of roles that will bring to life this sci-fi fantasy adventure trilogy. THE GAME OF ONE movie is an opportunity for actors, musical artists, dancers, game developers, fashion designers and artists from across the world to be part of the first globally crowdcast movie by applying online at TheGameofOne.com. Not only will every acting role and music composition be cast from this online process, but fans will experience the production process through social media and website updates along the way.
Like over-the-top (OTT) became a new model for distribution of content, THE GAME OF ONE provides a new model for creating a film.
To achieve its goal of uniting a global community and celebrate undiscovered talent, THE GAME OF ONE developed a crowdcasting business model that combines crowdsourcing with an online casting process. This approach integrates fans in the moviemaking experience and brings opportunities that are typically limited to key entertainment markets to an international audience.
"We see crowdcasting as the next phase in the evolution of filmmaking," said Robert Hyry, Executive Producer of The Game of One movie. "From the VERONICA MARS Kickstarter campaign, to STAR TREK's current fundraising campaign for walk on roles in the movie, fans are more invested in the filmmaking process than ever before."
As part of the crowdcasting model, minor application fees will apply, and all fees collected will go directly back into the production of the film.
THE GAME OF ONE is accepting applications online across six categories: actors, musical artists, dancers, visual/digital artists, fashion designers and game developers. Once received, the applications will be reviewed internally and will go through a call back process that includes online video interviews, and eventually, in-person meetings with the team in Los Angeles. Casting is projected to be completed in the second half of 2016, when production is scheduled to start. All winning talent will be compensated using scale union rates.
