Leading Healthcare Organizations and Thought Leaders, Including David Pogue, Gather at Verisk Health Conference 2015 to Help Transform Healthcare

Waltham, Mass., September 29, 2015 - Verisk Health, a leader in data-driven healthcare solutions and a Verisk Analytics (Nasdaq:VRSK) business, will bring together industry leaders from payer, provider, and self-insured employer organizations this week to discuss the ways in which data analytics transforms healthcare. In the seven years that Verisk Health has hosted the Verisk Health Conference (VHC), the event has become the premier forum to discuss the power of healthcare data and analytics to fuel transparency, collaboration, and innovation.

"Each year at VHC, we gather our clients and industry leaders to tackle healthcare's challenges," said Nadine Hays, president of Verisk Health. "Our clients are on the front lines, managing the risk, cost, payment, and quality of healthcare. It's our job to empower them with insights, answers, and solutions that can help transform healthcare. VHC is a unique opportunity to explore our collective work, share the many lessons learned, celebrate advancements, and strategize for the future."

This year's event will be held at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes in Florida from September 30 to October 2. The theme, "Answers, Insight, Action," reflects Verisk Health's commitment to transform the business of healthcare by providing data services, analytics, and technologies that serve to address the industry's most complex challenges. Keynote speakers include:

  • David Pogue, former New York Times technology columnist and founder of Yahoo Tech, who will speak about the use of technology in healthcare and the impact of technology on patients
  • Kevin B. Sears, senior vice president at Trinity Health, who will discuss the healthcare journey, whether it be evolution, transformation, or revolution
  • Sean Creighton, vice president of risk adjustment solutions at Verisk Health, who will share his insights into risk adjustment in emerging markets based on his 15-year tenure at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Blair Childs, senior vice president of public affairs at Premier, Inc., who will cover the implications of recent payment reform legislation and what it means for providers

Conference topics will also include fraud detection and special investigations unit (SIU) tactics, population and patient risk mitigation, HEDIS and Five-Star reporting, ICD-10 readiness, CMS data submission and compliance, and more. Through panels, workshops, and case studies from peers and expert advice from the Verisk Health team, the various conference tracks are geared toward helping clients advance healthcare in the four primary areas: population health, payment and accuracy, revenue, and quality.

Verisk Health will continue its tradition of giving back to local organizations that make a difference. This year, attendees will volunteer to support "Give Kids the World," a nonprofit storybook resort where children with life-threatening illnesses are treated to week-long, cost-free fantasy vacations.
