ORLANDO, FLA., Nov. 12, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Adacel announced today that the Company has been selected again in 2015 as a Top Simulation and Training Company with special recognition for innovation within the simulation industry.
KMI Media Group and Military Training Technology hold an annual competition to recognize companies that have made a significant impact in the military training industry throughout the current year. An impartial panel selects the winners from submissions from companies engaged in creating solutions across a diverse training area that includes among others serious gaming, visual systems, embedded training, simulation and database modeling. Special recognition in the form of "Ribbon" awards is bestowed on those companies who are deemed to have made the most significant contribution in one of the four categories Best Program, Innovation, Up-and-Coming, and Leading Military Sales.
The award to Adacel for leading innovation within the industry was based in part on the Company's work in speech recognition systems, as well as integrating air traffic control simulation to head-mounted visual display systems for greater freedom of movement and developing a system to help train police and security agencies to de-escalate tense situations and avoid the need for deadly force. Adacel holds several patents on technology to optimize speech processing that is particularly effective in applications specific to the simulation industry and demanding operational environments.
Speaking of the award, Gary Pearson, Adacel's Chief Executive Officer said "It's an exciting time at Adacel as we explore new ways to achieve a higher standard of realism in simulator technology and it is gratifying to see our team recognized for their innovative efforts."
Adacel has placed on the Military Training Technology Top Simulation and Training Companies list for eight consecutive years, six times achieving special recognition for Innovation and Program excellence. This year's award will be presented to Adacel during the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) slated for the first week of December in Orlando, Florida, where Adacel plans to demonstrate some of their award winning concepts and technologies.
