ROSEMEAD, Calif., Nov. 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Panda Express, America's favorite Chinese kitchen, celebrates the grand opening of its first street location in Manhattan and first-ever location in the Bronx on Saturday, Nov. 21. One hundred percent of the day's sales will be donated to local youth organizations. The Manhattan location at 1277 1st Avenue (between 68th and 69th) will support the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House and the Bronx location at 1 W. Fordham Road (Fordham and Jerome) will support the Washington GREYS Military Cadets. Regular business hours for both locations will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
"Having spent many years working in New York's Chinatown restaurants early in my career, I have the utmost respect for the history and connection New Yorkers have with Chinese cuisine," said Andrew Cherng, Panda Express founder and co-chair. Both locations will feature Panda Express' full menu of freshly wokked American Chinese food, including the iconic Original Orange Chicken and award-winning Honey Walnut Shrimp, along with special menu items created for the New York City market by Panda chefs. This local menu of rotating specials, inspired by the restaurants Cherng worked in during his time in New York, will include traditional dishes such as Mapo Tofu, Salt and Pepper Shrimp, and Seasonal Vegetables with Black Pepper Sauce.
The two new locations will showcase Panda's latest restaurant design, which reflects a modern take on Chinese décor inspired by family-style hospitality and comfort. For guests seeking additional convenience, Panda offers online ordering and delivery service through the restaurant's website at pandaexpress.com. Panda Express will open at least two more locations in 2016 in New York City near Penn Station and Hell's Kitchen.
