New Jacquie Lawson Victorian Advent Calendar Released for Christmas 2015 - Now on iPad!

SHEFFIELD, United Kingdom, Nov. 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For six consecutive years, the talented team behind Jacquie Lawson's famous e-cards has released a Christmas showcase of their art, animation and music in the form of their highly-anticipated digital Advent Calendar. This year, the Apple iPad has been added to the list of compatible platforms, along with Windows and Mac computers, making the Advent Calendar more accessible and interactive than ever before.

The Advent Calendar costs only $4 (£2.50), and that price reduces to $2 (£1.25) when ten or more copies are purchased at once. The captivating artistry and modest price make it an attractive small gift to send to friends and family, or even to business colleagues and clients – 25 days of novelties, games, art, music and fascinating facts for just eight cents per day!

The theme for the new 2015 calendar is the Victorian period – a period in which many of today's Christmas traditions were first seen – and there's much to learn about how Christmas was spent in those days. This gives the Advent Calendar an educational angle, which adds to the fun of the animation and the beauty of the illustrations.

The calendar is built around an attractive Christmas scene containing 25 numbered ornaments, one for each of the first 25 days of December. As each day passes, a new ornament can be clicked to reveal either a short animated story along the lines of the company's well-known e-cards, or a game, puzzle or other entertainment. But in addition, the main scene itself changes in subtle ways as the month progresses: it gets dark at night; the snow falls (you can even design your own snowflakes!); and there are numerous little surprises hidden in the scene, enticing you to hunt around for places to click.

Every daily animation has its own music arranged or composed to suit. The attention to detail and quality which makes Jacquie Lawson's work stand out from the crowd is evident here too, with several new arrangements of carols made and recorded especially for the Advent Calendar by the wonderful choir of Salisbury Cathedral.
