TORONTO, Dec. 1, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today the winners of its 2015 AMI Scholarship program. The program, which launched in 2012, is open to Canadian students enrolled in a diploma or degree program at a Canadian post-secondary school. Two scholarships valued at $5,000 each are awarded annually to students with a disability, one in English and one in French.
The winners of the 2015 AMI Scholarship program are Jack McCormick of Tillsonburg, Ontario and Louisane LeBlanc from Montreal, Quebec. Jack is studying Business Administration at Wilfred Laurier University while Louisane is studying Traductology at Concordia University.
AMI partnered with NEADS (National Educational Association of Disabled Students) to administer the AMI Scholarship Program for 2015 and the results were very positive. "NEADS fulfilled two key requirements that were vitally important to AMI," explains Peter Burke, Vice-President of Marketing and Communications. "We wanted to reach a substantial number of students with disabilities across the country and be truly inclusive by introducing our scholarship program to students in francophone communities. Through our partnership with NEADS we were successful on both fronts, and we had the pleasure of meeting Jack and Louisane; two incredibly conscientious and motivated students who I'm confident will be successful in whatever career they pursue."
Information and eligibility requirements for the 2016 AMI Scholarship program will be posted on the AMI websites in the New Year. Visit www.AMI.ca/scholarship and www.AMItele.ca/bourses for complete details.
