Houston Home Investor Helping Shelter in San Antonio

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Dec 7, 2015) - Big State Home Buyers is excited to announce its support of an event benefitting the Battered Women's Shelter in San Antonio. In their effort to expand to other Texas metropolitan areas, Big State makes an effort to meet the needs of Real Estate Investing Clubs across Texas, and this was a need. Big State Home Buyers has been providing real estate services to home sellers in Houston since 2008, and is excited about the opportunity to expand their reach, especially to the Women's Shelter in San Antonio.

The Alamo Real Estate Investing Association (Alamo REIA) in San Antonio, TX chooses a community to support every year, and the Women's Shelter in San Antonio was in desperate need. Their donation center was falling apart: there were parts of the floor that were simply dirt covered with rugs. With the rehab work that investors do regularly, the REIA had the skills and resources needed to address the need.

Jenny-May Olsen, who is coordinating the event for the REIA, had this to say: "This is a huge need, and it's something that many people overlook -- they don't think about it. Where they are actually living gets up-kept, but people don't think about what goes into that. They need clothes. They need food. They need toiletries. And that is the purpose of this donation center -- to house the things that they need. They have been through a horrible situation. To be able to help them with their situation? That is amazing to me."

Brian Spitz, President of Big State Home Buyers, explained that underwriting the event supports his own values. "Our expertise is helping people deal with stressful and emotional situations. Supporting the women's shelter allows us to combine our core value of helping people with our desire to help our friends at the San Antonio REIA grow."

So far this year, the REIA has helped the Shelter raise over $84,000 for the construction project that will completely overhaul the San Antonio donation center.
