DETROIT, Mich., Dec. 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tweddle Group has announced the opening of new offices at 2111 Woodward in Detroit. Tweddle Group will move its technology teams into the Francis Palms building later this month. The building, most famously known as the home of the Fillmore Detroit, will initially host about 30 Tweddle technologists.
Tweddle Group is a global leader in connected car information solutions and the heads of Tweddle's product, engineering, and innovation divisions will now all be based in the new Detroit office.
They'll be joined by the digital products team. The staff will occupy the entire 8th floor of the Francis Palms, in all a 7,044 square foot space. More Tweddle Group employees are scheduled to arrive in 2016 Tweddle estimates fifty employees will work in the office by the end of 2016.
The new space will serve as the hub of Tweddle Group's emerging product activities. The move caps a banner year for Tweddle Group's technology teams. They designed FCA's groundbreaking Vehicle User Guide earlier this year and are currently developing next-phase breakthroughs in intelligent on-board diagnostics, prognostics and vehicle quality software.
It's only fitting that Detroit's Creative Corridor serve as the new home for Tweddle's technology teams. Tweddle Group, long a pioneer in the Owner's Information field, finds itself at a significant juncture as vehicle information merges in new ways with vehicles and drivers themselves. It's a time of dramatic opportunity and there's a high demand for fresh new ways of thinking. Tweddle Group stands to benefit from the dynamic, creative energy that makes Detroit unique.
"We're glad to be part of Detroit's technology revolution," said Ty Beltramo, Chief Innovation Officer, Tweddle Group. "There's a critical mass forming around tech in Detroit right now. This move puts us close to our technology partners and the region's best innovators. Detroit is a great city with an amazing culture. We want to participate in its future."
Beltramo continued, "We want to create a workplace our team loves to be. Detroit's got it all. The food, the sports, and energy of the city will become part of our culture." In November, Tweddle Group was named one of the Top 100 Workplaces in Michigan by the Detroit Free Press and Crain's Detroit ranked Tweddle one of Michigan's Fast 50 – one of the 50 fastest growing companies for 2015.
The Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC) helped Tweddle Group find and purchase Francis Palms location. Tweddle and the DEGC toured a wide range of Detroit spaces. Tweddle ultimately chose Francis Palms for its proximity to public transport, including the future M-1 rail, and unique features like a bike storage area.
"Tweddle Group is exactly the kind of company the DEGC is looking for," said Mark Denson, Business Development Manager, DEGC. "They are rooted in technology and rapidly growing. The team has been great to work with; they are excited about their new location."
