SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - January 13, 2016) - Today, Vendini, the company that makes the business of live events simple, announced that it has partnered with Tucker Gumber, aka "The Festival Guy" to create a new book called The Festival Thrower's Bible. The book is a 154 page, illustrated guide on best practices to help festival producers throw world-class events.
You can purchase the hard copy of The Festival Thrower's Bible here, and can download the full e-book here.
The Festival Thrower's Bible offers up a swath of knowledge about planning and executing festivals from real-life experts, with guest chapters from professionals across the festival industry. A few of the topics covered in the book include:
- Establishing vision and brand for your festival
- Selection of venue and lineup
- Sponsorship strategy
- Logistics including bathrooms, food, camping, volunteers and more
- Managing drug use and handling medical and mental health
- Festival technology
- Creating a kickass festival experience through art, lighting, stage setup and more
With over 1,200 documented music festivals in more than 70 countries, the number of festivals has skyrocketed. It is a billion dollar industry that shows no signs of slowing. This book aims to give everyone the information and know-how they need to throw an amazing festival.
"After personally reviewing over 90 festivals, you pick up on what makes some festivals more enjoyable than others," said Tucker Gumber, aka The Festival Guy and creator of festival app FestEvo. "We've jam packed this book with first-hand insight into the festival industry from both myself and ten other industry professionals -- people who have poured blood, sweat and tears into their profession."
The Festival Thrower's Bible is the first effort to come out of Vendini Publishing, Venidni's publishing and content creation program. Along with the Festival Thrower's Bible, the program has several other projects in the works to be completed in 2016.
"We want the festival industry as a whole to be the best it can possibly be," said Vendini CEO Mark Tacchi. "We're passionate about enabling artists of all kinds, wherever they may be, and with this effort wanted to empower folks working in the festival space. We even used a local artist for the artwork and will be giving 100 percent of our net proceeds to nonprofit organizations via our 'Vendini Loves The Arts' charitable giving program."

About The Festival Guy
Tucker Gumber has spent the last five years traveling North America reviewing festivals for his website, www.TheFestivalGuy.com. Now with over 90 festivals (totaling 300+ festival days) under his belt he is working to improve the festival experience. Tucker founded FestEvo, short for Festival Evolution, with the sole mission of creating solutions to festival problems. FestEvo's first product is a mobile app which brings festivals from around the world into one app and allows users to listen to every artist on the lineup. Tucker's main goal for 2016 is to end festival trash by implementing a program called Leave No Trace+1, which encourages everyone to pick up after themselves and one person who might not be. If half the crowd participates it doesn't matter what the other half does.
