Media are invited to a signing ceremony and press conference hosted by the Yinka Dene Alliance and the BC Government and Service Employee's Union in downtown Vancouver tomorrow morning (Feb. 4, 2016).
Union leaders will join First Nations in a signing ceremony of an Accord supporting the Save the Fraser Declaration, and speak about an emerging alliance between First Nations and unions amidst an escalating national debate about tar sands pipelines, consultation and the environmental review process.
The Save the Fraser Declaration is an indigenous law banning tar sands pipelines and tankers from crossing BC, signed by representatives of over 130 First Nations.
