SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 24, 2016) - ForgeRock®, the leading open platform provider of identity management solutions, today announced that it is presenting and exhibiting as a Bronze Sponsor at RSA® Conference 2016, USA. ForgeRock will be demonstrating its newest ForgeRock Identity Platform™ -- the world's first identity management platform to continuously and contextually assess the authenticity of users, devices and things.
Demonstrated in Booth #N3115, ForgeRock's platform is the first of its kind to fully implement the User-Managed Access (UMA) standard for creating digital trust and privacy-by-consent -- topics that continue to be debated globally, particularly in light of the recent EU-US Privacy Shield decision.
Eve Maler (@xmlgrrl), ForgeRock's vice president of innovation and emerging technology and former Forrester principal analyst, will share her expertise as a participant in the following panels.
Session: Privacy, Selfie Sticks and Umpires: Things That Shouldn't Exist, But Do
Description: In the security industry we spend virtually all of our time trying to build fences around data, monitor the fences around the data and then building taller fences. What if that data never needed fencing to begin with? In this presentation, Josh Alexander, Director of Identity at Salesforce, and Eve Maler will begin the conversation about greater disclosure and rediscovering what privacy should be today.
When: March 3, 2016, from 10:20 a.m. - 11:10 a.m. PT
Where: Moscone West | Room: 2007
Session: Privacy, Selfie Sticks and Umpires: Things That Shouldn't Exist, But Do (Focus-On)
Description: Continue the conversation about Privacy, Selfie Sticks and Umpires: Things That Shouldn't Exist, But Do in a smaller group discussion and Q&A with the presenter. This discussion-based session will be limited to 50 attendees, on a first come, first served basis.
When: March 3, 2016, from 4:30 p.m. - 5:20 p.m. PT
Where: Moscone West | Room: 2014
Maler is also scheduled to participate in an upcoming Data Driven Economy roundtable sponsored by Facebook. Learn more about the series at: www.thedatadriveneconomy.com.
"It's apparent that the contentious issues surrounding Safe Harbor and related regulatory discussions are likely to continue for some time," said Maler. "Organizations should prepare themselves now by designing personalized digital services that respect an individual's right to control access to his or her data and offer more transparency and respect."
In addition to serving in ForgeRock's Office of the CTO, Maler is a renowned strategist, innovator and communicator on digital identity, access, security, privacy and consent, with particular focus on creating successful interoperable ecosystems and fostering individual empowerment. Maler drives innovation for the ForgeRock Identity Platform and directs ForgeRock's involvement in related industry standards, particularly for federated authorization, privacy and consent and their impact on the Web and the Internet of Things. To these ends, she founded and chairs the User-Managed Access (UMA) work group and co-founded and co-chairs the Health Relationship Trust (HEART) work group. Maler was formerly with Forrester Research, PayPal and Sun Microsystems; at Sun, she co-invented SAML. In a previous life she co-invented XML.
John Barco, ForgeRock's vice president of product marketing, also has an RSA speaking session:
Session: The Digital Transformation of Identity
Description: Identity is a fundamental requirement for digital growth. Businesses and organizations cannot properly take advantage of mobile, cloud or Internet of Things (IoT) technologies without a scalable and repeatable identity strategy. This session is designed to help attendees understand the essentials of customer-focused identity and how it helps organizations engage with their customers.
When: March 3, 2016 at 2:10pm PT
Where: South Expo Hall | Expo Briefing Center
In addition to heading up ForgeRock's product marketing efforts, Barco has 20-plus years of product and marketing management experience in a variety of enterprise, infrastructure and security technologies. Previously he was senior director of product management, mobile security, at IronKey, and he also served as senior director of product marketing and product management at Sun Microsystems.
