FREMONT, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 24, 2016) - Attivo Networks®, the leader in deception for cyber security threat detection, today announced that Jeff Williams, industry security veteran, has joined the company's Board of Directors.
Williams was an early catalyst to FireEye's rapid sales growth over the past six years leading to a successful IPO. Prior to joining FireEye, Williams was Global Vice President of Sales for Innovative Technologies at Cisco. Before Cisco, Williams held senior leadership positions with IronPort (acquired by Cisco for $830 million), IntruVert Networks (acquired by McAfee), and GlobalCenter (acquired by Exodus Communications for 6.5B). Williams has also served on the board of directors of cloud infrastructure startup Meraki Wireless until that company's acquisition by Cisco for $1.2B in 2012. And most recently served on the Board of Directors at Adallom which was acquired by Microsoft and OpenDNS that was acquired by Cisco Systems for $635M.
"We are extremely fortunate to have Jeff join us on the Board," said Tushar Kothari, CEO of Attivo Networks. "He brings us an extensive background in enterprise sales and business strategy within the security industry. We look forward to his knowledge, expertise and best practices to help us grow swiftly in the next few years."
"Agreeing to serve on this Board was an easy decision for me," Williams notes. "Attivo Networks deception based detection solution is providing a completely new approach for enterprises to defend themselves after attackers have made their way inside the network. Not all breaches come through the network so it is critical to have a line of defense inside corporate networks and even offline SCADA systems. This can be a major addition to any enterprise's critical infrastructure security posture and it's no surprise that it has already been adopted by many Fortune 500 companies. There is no question this company is poised for significant growth."
