NEW YORK, NY and MIAMI, FL--(Marketwired - Mar 2, 2016) - Fiduciary Trust Company International, a leading wealth management firm and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Resources, Inc., announced today that Michael Cabanas has rejoined the firm as Head of Relationship Development for Fiduciary Trust International of the South (Fiduciary Trust).
Mr. Cabanas, who served as a business development officer for Fiduciary Trust International of the South from 2006 to 2013, will return to Fiduciary Trust to focus on growing the firm's presence in South Florida by raising community awareness of the firm's wealth management capabilities, working with our existing clients and generating new business. He will be based in the firm's Coral Gables office and report to Gail Cohen, Chair and General Trust Counsel of Fiduciary Trust.

Mr. Cabanas most recently served as Executive Vice President and Head of Wealth Management at Coconut Grove Bank. He has also held senior banking positions at BNY Mellon Wealth Management and J.P. Morgan Private Bank. He received his MBA from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University.
Cabanas has volunteered with several local organizations, including serving as Impact Council Member for the United Way of Miami-Dade County and Board Member of the Boys and Girls Club of Miami-Dade County. He is a current member of the University of Miami's Citizens Board, STEP (Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners) and board member of CAP Inc.
