SEATTLE, March 04, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ReelSonar has announced that DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. has agreed to sell iBobber™, the first portable fish finder to utilize both Bluetooth Smart and sonar technology, in more than 100 DICK’s and Field & Stream stores across the United States.
Unlike boat-mounted fish finders that only show what’s directly under the craft, iBobber can be cast up to 100 feet away with sonar pings 135 feet deep making it ideal for use from a kayak, dock, jetty, the shore as well as on boats. The iBobber can be attached to a rod and reel, and then, immediately upon contact with the water, it automatically turns on and syncs with a companion app for iOS and Android devices to show fish location, size (over/under 15”), water temperature and more.
Utilizing an extensive trip log, the iBobber app also records temperature and weather conditions while the fisherman can track which lures have been used and catch results. GPS tracking makes it easy to save successful locations found while fishing.
With its Waterbed Mapping mode, iBobber allows users to see what is directly below the cast. It illustrates the contour and structure of the waterbed, helping fishers avoid potential underwater snags and target fish more effectively. The bottom tie off allows users to deploy the iBobber as a regular fishing bobber, recording strikes on the line and continually tracking fish within range.
Other leading features include a prolonged battery life compared to competing products, social media integration, and an LED indicator for easy spotting or night fishing.
The iBobber will be available at these DICK’S and Field & Stream locations for $99.99 USD.
