GLEN ELLYN, IL--(Marketwired - Mar 8, 2016) - The statistics about social media, over-exposure, online predators and cyber-bullying are staggering. With digital communication technology appearing in the hands of children at younger and younger ages, the concern for the safety of our children grows exponentially. Unfortunately the same technology that puts a world of information at their fingertips also puts them one click away from a multitude of serious consequences. To help parents navigate these stormy waters, the Catholic Education Foundation, Diocese of Joliet, IL, has planned a series of Cyber Safety Seminars for parents about how to protect our children in this hyper digital age.
The seminars are presented by Cyber Safety Consulting, experts at teaching Internet safety to elementary, middle school and high schools, businesses and religious groups. The Cyber Safety Seminars are geared specifically to parents who are overwhelmed by the amount of technology and social networks our children are using. Parents will learn about devices, software, websites and apps and the potential harms that come with internet usage.

Upcoming free seminars will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 7pm at St. Isaac Jogues Parish Center, 421 S. Clay St., Hinsdale, IL and Wednesday, March 16, at 7pm at Joliet Catholic Academy Chapel, 1200 N. Larkin Ave., Joliet, IL. The seminars are free and open to the public.
