ALEXANDRIA, VA--(Marketwired - Mar 21, 2016) - Greater Washington's leading home improvement and roofing contractor, Exterior Medics, has been named the NARI 2015 Contractor of the Year (CotY) Grand Award Winner in the Residential Exterior category. The NARI Metro DC chapter recognized Exterior Medics for its renovation of a traditional colonial home in Alexandria at the NARI Metro DC Capital CotY Awards held at Westin Tysons Corner on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

Each project we undertake is unique in its own way and this one was especially dear to our hearts due to our client's concerns regarding a family member's health and the safety risks implied with the construction debris. We worked hard to ensure the area was safe and ventilated at all times and constantly communicated with our client," explained Mark Watson, Co-Owner, Exterior Medics.
The award-winning renovation transformed critical roofing and siding issues. The siding was deteriorating, the gutter at the back of the house was completely pulled away from the fascia board -- which was rotting -- and the gutter system wasn't properly sized to handle the amount of run-off. Additionally, inflections in the plywood decking were causing it to fail in several areas and thus would not survive another winter season, making the repair imperative.
"It was also important for us to retain elegance and keep consistent with our client's Traditional Colonial style neighborhood. Our color choices and textural accents helped draw attention to the picturesque white picket fence and allowed our clients' home to stand out for all the right reasons," explained Joe LeVecchi, Co-Owner, Exterior Medics.
Exterior Medics contractors utilized GAF Woodland to renovate the roof and James Hardie eight and a quarter inch smooth lap panels were applied to replace the siding and cedar shingles for the gables accents. The trim was replaced mostly with James Hardie and white aluminum in some areas. Gutters were custom fitted to meet the exact dimensions of the home for the remaining parts.
Exterior Medics worked their way up from 2015 NARI CotY finalists to Grand Prize Winners in 2016.
