A.Vogel's allergy campaign supports the David Suzuki Foundation's efforts to save our pollinators from extinction


MONTREAL, April 15, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A recent report warns the world that the ongoing decline of our pollinators, like bees and butterflies, if not addressed immediately, may have an apocalyptic effect on our world food supply.

Pollinators, including some 20,000 species of wild bees are essential to hundreds of billions of dollars' worth of crops each year – from fruits and vegetables to coffee and chocolate. However, according to the report released by a group affiliated to the United Nations, two out of five species of invertebrate pollinators, such as bees and butterflies are on the path towards extinction.

What's more concerning is the fact that the cause of our pollinator crises cannot be narrowed down to a single source. Villains include; pesticide use; habitat loss due to development; disease, parasites and pathogens; and global warming.

For years, A.Vogel has partnered with various local and national organizations to enhance national awareness levels and efforts to save our bees and butterflies.

Their third annual Spring campaign "Bee-Cause We Care!" will be launched at this weekend's Green Living Show in Toronto and has already started to flood Canadian health food stores, with the goal of buzz creation and to raise funds for the David Suzuki Foundation (DSF).

For every Allergy Relief product sold, A.Vogel will donate a portion to the DSF to support their award-winning programs that are protecting pollinators by reducing the harm caused by pesticides and spurring the creation and enhancement of pollinator habitat in communities and infrastructure corridors, like rail, road and hydro right-of-ways, across the country.

The A.Vogel Allergy Relief, Bee-Cause We Care campaign was sparked by the link of pollen to allergy sufferers and the type that the bees create, which are responsible for both the nourishment of the environment and our own.
