WHY: The First Lady and Dr. Biden, joined by President Obama and Vice President Biden, will kick off a USO comedy show celebrating Military Appreciation Month as well as the 5th anniversary of Joining Forces and the 75th anniversary of the USO. It also will serve as a personal thank you to military families with a family-friendly comedy show hosted by Jon Stewart, and featuring an appearance by David Letterman.
The show will include remarks from the White House and USO CEO and President J.D. Crouch II, as well as performances by comedians Judd Apatow, Mike Birbiglia, Kristen Schaal, Hasan Minhaj, John Mulaney and Jeff Ross.
To keep military families connected to life back home, the event will be streamed via whitehouse.gov/live beginning at 6 p.m. EST – along with a live viewing audience of active duty service members at the USO Warrior and Family Centers at Fort Belvoir and Naval Support Activity Bethesda as well as various other USO centers around the world.
