NCC to build rental units for Magnolia Bostad

NCC has been commissioned by Magnolia Bostad to build 454 rental units in
central Uppsala, in the Senapsfabriken 2 property block. The order is valued at
SEK 443 million.
“This residential block will truly contribute to satisfying the Municipality’s
need for housing in general and rental units in particular. Another aim is to
have the building environmentally certified in accordance with Sweden Green
Building Council Silver,” says Henrik Landelius, NCC Building Sweden.

The classification takes into consideration such environmental factors as energy
use, energy sources, indoor environment, materials and chemicals.

NCC will initiate production of the new property block – containing 454 new
rental units and five retail and service premises – in August.

The centrally located industrial area, which is distinguished by its industrial
structures, is being transformed and making way for new, centrally located
housing close to the travel center in the city. The emphasis will be on smaller
housing units, in view of the needs that the Municipality has at the present
time.

The first tenants are scheduled to move in during the third quarter of 2018.

The order will be registered in the second quarter of 2016 in the Building
business area.
