Food Logistics’ annual Top Green Providers list recognizes companies whose products, services, or exemplary leadership is enhancing sustainability within the food and beverage industry. The list offers logistics professionals a guide to the providers, manufacturers, and software and technology companies that have found new ways to promote sustainability throughout their operations and those of their customers.

“It’s our goal to help our customers meet their green initiatives whether they be to reduce carbon emissions or transition to paperless solutions. We are honored that Food Logistics recognizes these efforts and we strive towards continuing to lead by example year after year,” says FreightCenter CEO Matthew Brosious.

FreightCenter made Food Logistics’ Top Green Provider list because we…

  • Provide food and beverage companies access to transportation methods that are less carbon-intensive, such as intermodal and rail transportation.

  • Partner with many eco-friendly and SmartWay-certified carriers, such as Central Freight Lines, Southeastern Freight Lines, Werner Enterprises, UPS, Swift, YRC Worldwide and many more.

  • Incorporate paperless solutions for commercial invoices and billing, as well as customs documents, to reduce overall paper consumption.

  • Go a step further than environmentally-friendly services. We also make efforts at our office, such as providing recycling options, providing staff with reusable cups, using paper plates instead of Styrofoam and having our building’s AC and lights on a timer.

“The 2016 Top Green Providers reached a new record high for applicants and recipients, confirming the importance of sustainability in the global food and beverage supply chain,” says Lara L. Sowinski, editorial director, supply chain network, at AC Business Media. “Our industry’s continued focus on environmental stewardship and the role that growers, manufacturers, logistics companies, retailers and others play is driving heightened awareness and actions aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions while simultaneously boosting cost and energy efficiencies.”
