The title of the roundtable is "Nutrition for You". The discussion will be held in a meeting room at the Watson booth on the IFT show floor. Leading the discussion will be Al Vega, Research and Development Manager of the Nutrition Division at Watson.
In the roundtable Vega will lead a discussion exploring the opportunities afforded by taking a more personalized approach to nutrition. Vega will discuss product formulation and design to appeal to consumers with specific health concerns, such as eye health, bone health or cardiovascular health. Products can also be formulated based on lifestyles, fitness levels, age, and gender of the target consumer group. Another level of consideration is market positioning and formulating products that can be certified as organic, non-GMO, or gluten free. Food and beverage manufacturers may consider a range of consumer health concerns and positioning claims when developing new products to appeal to specific target groups.
