Sensors Expo & Conference Celebrates Blockbuster 2016 Event

2016 Event Saw a Double Digit Increase in Show Attendance and Featured More Than 100 Industry Experts and 300 Exhibitors Highlighting Cutting-Edge Sensor Innovations

NEWTON, MA--(Marketwired - Jul 14, 2016) - Sensors Expo & Conference (#Sensors16), the nation's leading event focusing exclusively on sensors and sensor-integrated systems, recently concluded its 31st annual event in San Jose, California. Featuring more than 100 industry experts and innovations from over 300 exhibitors, the 2016 conference celebrated its most successful showing citing a double-digit percentage increase in attendees. Highlighting advancements across Flexibles, Embedded Systems, IoT, MEMS, Robotics, Wearables, and more, the industry's most recognized brands and hottest startups demonstrated the future of sensing technology and its real-world applications to engineers, executives, and industry influencers alike.

2016 Show Highlights:

For 2016, the event featured nine conference tracks, over 55 Technical Sessions, five Pre-Conference Symposia, and two visionary Keynote Presentations from Dr. Ken Gabriel, widely regarded as the founder of the Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) industry, and Ray Zinn, author of "Tough Things First" and Silicon Valley's longest serving CEO. In addition, the expanded interest from the academic community led to the creation of a new Non-Profit and University Program designed to provide opportunities these audiences to introduce research and innovative designs to the larger sensors community. During the University panel, speakers touched on the future of engineering education and the importance of career exploration.

In keeping with the show's commitment to providing opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing, Sensors Expo & Conference 2016 also held an inaugural Women in Sensor Engineering (WISE) Breakfast on Thursday, June 23rd. A highlight of the event, participants offered each other support and advice noting that as women in engineering, a good partner support system is critical. Speakers also encouraged all young people to get into engineering as it helps the industry as a whole become more creative and innovative.

"It was great to see many of the industry's leaders in one place and it allowed me to aggregate the tools and technology which are essential for my business," noted one attendee from SolAps LLC, while a representative from Technocel stated, "Sensors gives you access to learn more about new technology out there from best of the world, all under one roof."

Recently named the Fastest-Growing "Next 50" Show in Blended Growth by Tradeshow Executive, Sensors Expo continues to deliver the opportunities, experience, and meaningful interactions engineers, professionals, and exhibitors demand to capitalize on the sensing innovations happening today. Exhibitors remarked that the event is an ideal platform to educate, engage, and inspire the sensor community at large.

"We come to Sensors because this is one of the best places to engage with actual real-world applications, industrial sensing, components, and the whole gambit. It's really all the ingredients that are needed to build connected systems and that's what we're all about," commented David Ewing of Synapse Wireless.

"We have been at Sensors Expo for three years running. It is a great show that has grown and brought us the right audience to talk about our new technologies, engage with customers, and showcase our new products. We'll be back next year!" noted Mario Calvo at Parker Hannifin.

The 2017 event is slated for June 27-29 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. To stay up to date on registration, call for speakers, and sponsorship opportunities click here.
